Cheeks was the consummate point guard. He made those around him better. He shot over 52% for his career. He shut down his opponets. He scored 15 ppg and dished out 9.2 assists per game playing with Julius Erving, Moses Malane, and Charles Barkley. What is not to like about his game? The worst thing going against him was that his prime was at the same time as Magic Johnson and Isiah Thomas, so he was often overshadowed. Can you seriously say that Andy Phillip and K.C. Jones - both inducted into the hall - were better point guards or had more complete games?
